Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Malena and it’s fabulous to be here with you today.
Today is March 27.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.
Slow Down
We carry so much around every day — financial worries, relational stress, anxiety about the future, and the pressure to succeed.
Now is the time to set those things down for a few minutes and enjoy some time with Jesus.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper: “Jesus, I come as I am.”
As you exhale, pray: “Meet me in my need.”
Do this three times, then rest in His presence.
Read
“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
God blesses those who mourn,
for they will be comforted. (Matthew 5:3–4, NLT)
Notice
What stands out to you in this passage?
Is there a phrase that surprises or challenges you?
Hold it in your heart for a moment.
Reread
Hear these words as Jesus’ blessing spoken over people who feel empty and broken.
Meditate
Jesus begins the Beatitudes by blessing those who feel poor and those who mourn. The world often sees poverty and grief as signs of failure, but Jesus calls them places where God’s kingdom draws near.
“Poor and realize their need for him”—not self‑sufficient, not spiritually impressive, but aware of their dependence. To such people, He says, “the Kingdom of Heaven is yours.”
“Those who mourn”—those who feel loss, pain, and sorrow. To them, He promises comfort—not a quick fix, but the deep consolation of God Himself.
Take a few moments to reflect on this question:
Where in my life do I feel poor or mourning right now—and can I dare to believe that Jesus calls me “blessed” in that very place?
Respond
Jesus, thank You that You see my poverty and my grief, and You call me blessed when I bring them to You.
Help me stop pretending to be strong and instead learn to depend on You.
Comfort me—and teach me to trust that Your kingdom is near, even in my tears.
Exercise
The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
Habit: Midday Pause
Today, set a reminder around the middle of your day.
When it goes off, take 30 seconds to breathe slowly and pray: “Jesus, in my joys and sorrows, You are here.”
Let that brief pause re-center you in His presence.
That’s your two minutes with Jesus for today.
Now, take what you’ve heard… and live it.
Until next time, keep slowing down, keep listening, and keep walking with Jesus.
