Slow down. Meet Jesus. Let His Word shape your day.

Day 38 — John 4:20–26 — Worship in Spirit and Truth

Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Nick and it’s an honor to be with you today. Today is February 7.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.

Slow Down

Jesus is here. He’s sitting in your favorite spot, waiting for you to join Him.
You may have a million things on your mind, but for these few moments, set them aside. Relax. Calm your body.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper in your heart: “Don’t be afraid.”
As you exhale, pray: “God knows my heart.”
Repeat this three times, then rest in His presence.

Read

So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestors worshiped?”
Jesus replied, “Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem. You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews. But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”
The woman said, “I know the Messiah is coming—the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”
Then Jesus told her, “I Am the Messiah!” (John 4:20–26, NLT)

Notice

What stands out to you in this passage?
Is there a phrase or truth that speaks directly to you?

Reread

Hear the passage again slowly, listening for the weight of Jesus’ words: “I Am the Messiah!”

Meditate

When Jesus says, “I Am the Messiah!” He’s saying, “You’re looking right at Him!”
Sometimes we miss what’s right in front of us — even when it’s the very thing we’ve been waiting for.
True worship isn’t about a location or a ritual — it’s about spirit and truth. And it’s about recognizing that the One we worship is present with us right now.
Reflect on this:
Am I worshiping Jesus with my whole heart, in spirit and truth, knowing He is here with me?

Respond

Lord, I know You are here. I’m listening… and I worship You in spirit and truth.

Exercise

The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
*Habit: Carry the Load *
It could be physical — like groceries or boxes — or emotional — listening to someone’s struggles.
Look for opportunities to step in and lighten someone’s burden.
As you help, silently pray for them, asking Jesus to meet their needs.
