Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Nick and I’m so happy to be here today. Today is February 6.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.
Slow Down
Jesus is glad you’re here.
He loves you deeply and wants to be in your presence.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper: “Lord, bubble up.”
As you exhale, pray: “Your life in me.”
Repeat this three times, then sit quietly with Him.
Read
“But sir, you don’t have a rope or a bucket,” she said, “and this well is very deep. Where would you get this living water? And besides, do you think you’re greater than our ancestor Jacob, who gave us this well? How can you offer better water than he and his sons and his animals enjoyed?”
Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”
“Please, sir,” the woman said, “give me this water! Then I’ll never be thirsty again, and I won’t have to come here to get water.”
“Go and get your husband,” Jesus told her.
“I don’t have a husband,” the woman replied.
Jesus said, “You’re right! You don’t have a husband—for you have had five husbands, and you aren’t even married to the man you’re living with now. You certainly spoke the truth!”
“Sir,” the woman said, “you must be a prophet. (John 4:11–19, NLT)
Notice
What stands out to you in this passage?
Is there a phrase or truth that speaks directly to you?
Reread
Close your eyes and imagine the scene.
See their faces, hear the tone of their voices, notice the emotion.
Meditate
Jesus doesn’t stay on the surface — He goes deeper.
He speaks to the woman’s true condition, not to shame her, but to open her heart to the living water He offers.
This is how He works with us too — peeling back layers until we see our need for Him.
Reflect on this:
Am I willing to let Jesus go beyond the surface in my life and address my true condition?
Respond
Lord I want to go beyond the surface with you…point out the condition of my heart…help me to hear it.
Exercise
The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
Habit: Prayer in the Moment
Prayer in the Moment — Before each conversation today, pause for a brief prayer:
“Lord, give me words that encourage and build up.”
Make it a habit:
Before meetings, calls, or casual chats, invite Jesus into the moment.
Ask Him to guide your tone, your words, and your listening.
When I started the 2 Minute Disciple Podcast, my goal was simple — to help busy believers get to know Jesus a little more each day. If this podcast has encouraged you, would you consider supporting it on Buy Me a Coffee? Your gift helps us keep sharing God’s Word, improve our quality, and reach more people. You can find the link in the show notes. Thank you for being part of this ministry.
That’s your two minutes with Jesus for today.
Now, take what you’ve heard… and live it.
Until next time, keep slowing down, keep listening, and keep walking with Jesus.
