Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Nick and its a blessing to be here with you today. Today is February 5.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.
Slow Down
You are stepping into a sacred space with the intent of meeting Jesus.
He wants to meet with you and spend time with you.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper: “Jesus, give me.”
As you exhale, pray: “Living water.”
Repeat this three times, then rest in His presence.
Read
He had to go through Samaria on the way. Eventually he came to the Samaritan village of Sychar, near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime. Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food.
The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?”
Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” (John 4:4–10, NLT)
Notice
What stands out to you in this passage?
Is there a word or phrase that catches your attention?
Reread
Hear the passage again slowly, paying attention to the tone of Jesus’ voice and the surprise in the woman’s response.
Meditate
The Samaritan woman was shocked that Jesus spoke to her — she wasn’t the kind of person anyone would expect Him to talk to.
But Jesus seeks out those who are lonely, overlooked, and disregarded. He steps over social barriers to offer living water.
This challenges me to be like Jesus — to notice those who are ignored by others and engage them in meaningful conversations that point to Him.
Take a few moments to reflect on this question:
Who am I engaging in conversation with and am I pointing them to Jesus?
Respond
Lord, open my eyes to see those You want me to speak to, and give me the courage to engage them with Your love.
Exercise
The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
Habit: Share the Love
Today, tell someone one way Jesus has impacted your life.
Here’s how you can make it intentional:
Choose someone you don’t normally share faith conversations with.
Keep it simple: “Can I tell you something Jesus has done for me recently?”
Listen to their response and invite them to share their own story.
