Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Nick and it is great to be here with you today. It is January 14.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.
Slow Down
You are here to meet with Jesus, but your mind may be spinning in many directions.
It’s hard to focus when life feels scattered.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper in your heart: “Jesus, I’m here.”
As you exhale, pray: “Help me focus.”
Do this three times, then sit in silence for a few moments.
Read
51 Then he returned to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. And his mother stored all these things in her heart.
52 Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people. (Luke 2:51–52, NLT)
Notice
What stands out to you in this passage? Is there a word or phrase that catches your attention? Hold it in your mind and heart for a moment.
Reread
Now hear the passage again slowly, being mindful of what God is wanting you to hear from Him.
Meditate
Are you growing?
What are you growing in?
Who are you finding favor with?
Take a few moments to reflect on this verse:
Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.
Respond
God thank you for growth. Help me to become more like Jesus.
Exercise
The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
Habit: Faith Sharing
Today’s habit is Faith Sharing: Share a verse or truth from today’s reading with a friend.
The goal is to take what you are hearing from God and pass it on to someone else.
