Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Nick and it’s a joy to be here with you today.
Today is March 18.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.
Slow Down
Jesus is here. He’s sitting in your favorite spot, waiting for you to join Him.
You may have a million things on your mind, but for these few moments, set them aside. Relax. Calm your body.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper: “Jesus, walk with me.”
As you exhale, pray: “Open my eyes to You.”
Do this three times, then rest in His presence.
Read
One Sabbath day as Jesus was walking through some grainfields, his disciples broke off heads of grain, rubbed off the husks in their hands, and ate the grain. But some Pharisees said, “Why are you breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath?”
Jesus replied, “Haven’t you read in the Scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He went into the house of God and broke the law by eating the sacred loaves of bread that only the priests can eat. He also gave some to his companions.” And Jesus added, “The Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath.” (Luke 6:1–5, NLT)
Notice
What stands out to you in this passage?
Is there a word or phrase that catches your attention?
Hold it in your heart for a moment.
Reread
Imagine walking with Jesus through the fields, feeling the grain between your fingers, and hearing His calm response to the criticism.
Meditate
Luke tells the same story in his own way: a Sabbath walk, simple hunger, and a clash over what counts as “work.” The Pharisees fixate on the act; Jesus points them back to Scripture and to God’s heart in times of need.
Then He says again, “The Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath.” The Sabbath is not just about a day; it’s about who defines rest, worship, and what is truly good.
Jesus claims that authority. To walk with Him, even in something as ordinary as a field on the Sabbath, is to be in step with the Lord of rest.
Take a moment to reflect on this question:
What would it look like for me to walk through my day—my work, my rest, my routines—with Jesus as Lord over all of it?
Respond
Jesus, You are Lord, even over the Sabbath—and over every part of my life. Teach me to walk with You in the ordinary moments, trusting Your heart more than my fears or other people’s expectations.
Exercise
The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
Habit: A Grateful Walk
Today, if you’re able, take a short walk—outside if possible.
As you walk, thank God for what you see, hear, and feel: the sky, the trees, the sounds, even the air you breathe.
Let this simple walk become a quiet Sabbath moment with the Lord of all.
That’s your two minutes with Jesus for today.
Now, take what you’ve heard… and live it.
Until next time, keep slowing down, keep listening, and keep walking with Jesus.
