Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Nick and it’s fabulous to be here with you today.
Today is September 2.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.

Slow Down

Jesus is here.
He’s sitting in your favorite spot, waiting for you to join Him.
You have a million things on your mind that need your attention, but right now it’s time to be with Jesus.
Set those things aside, relax, and calm your body.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper: "Jesus, You are the fulfiller.”
As you exhale, pray: “Everything said of you is true."
Do this three times, then rest in His presence.

Read

Once again they tried to arrest him, but he got away and left them. He went beyond the Jordan River near the place where John was first baptizing and stayed there awhile. And many followed him. “John didn’t perform miraculous signs,” they remarked to one another, “but everything he said about this man has come true.” And many who were there believed in Jesus.
(John 10:39–42, NLT)

Reread

Hear the passage again and pay attention to what is said about Jesus.

Meditate

John was right.
That's the simple, powerful conclusion the people reach in this passage. They've come to the place where John the Baptist used to baptize — the place where it all began. And as they stand there, they start connecting the dots.
John didn't perform a single miraculous sign. No healings. No water into wine. No feeding of thousands. Just words. Just a voice crying in the wilderness, pointing to the One who was coming.
And yet — everything John said has come true.
The One he pointed to has arrived. The One he said was greater than himself has proven it. The One he said would baptize with the Holy Spirit has been doing exactly that.
John's witness was enough. His words were enough. His faithful, sign-less pointing was enough to prepare people to recognize Jesus when He came.
And many believed.
There's something quietly beautiful about this passage. It comes right after some of the most intense opposition Jesus has faced — the crowd picking up stones, the leaders trying to arrest Him. And then He withdraws to this quiet place by the river. And people come. And they believe.
The opposition doesn't stop the Kingdom. It never does.
And here's what this passage says about faithfulness: you don't have to perform miracles to point people to Jesus. John didn't. He just told the truth. He just said what he knew. He just pointed — consistently, faithfully, without signs or spectacle — and it was enough.
Your witness doesn't have to be impressive. It just has to be true.
Take a few moments to sit with this question:
Who in my life needs me to simply point them toward Jesus — and am I willing to be a faithful witness even without signs and spectacle?

Respond

Jesus, everything said about You is true. You are the fulfiller of every promise, every prophecy, every longing. Help me to be like John — a faithful witness who simply points to You. I don't need to be impressive. I just need to be honest. Use my words to help others find You.

Exercise

The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
Habit: Point to Jesus
Today's habit is an act of faithful witness: identify one person in your life who needs someone to point them toward Jesus — and do one thing today to point them there.
It might be sharing what this podcast has meant to you. It might be telling them what God has been doing in your life lately. It might be inviting them to church or to a conversation. It might be as simple as sending them a verse that has been speaking to you.
John didn't perform miracles. He just told the truth about Jesus. And it was enough.
Write the person's name down. Then write down one specific, simple thing you can do today to point them toward Jesus.
Then ask yourself: Am I waiting until I have something more impressive to offer? Am I waiting until I feel more qualified, more prepared, more spiritually put together?
John wasn't impressive by the world's standards. No signs. No miracles. Just a voice. Just words. Just faithful pointing.
Bring it to Jesus and pray: "Jesus, I want to point _________________ toward You today. I don't have signs or miracles to offer. But I have my story. I have what I know. I have the truth of who You are. Help me to point faithfully — simply, honestly, without apology. And let my pointing be enough to open a door."
Then do it. Today.
