Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Nick and it’s awesome to be here with you today.
Today is August 2.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.

Slow Down

You are stepping into a sacred space with Jesus.
Set aside the distractions of your day.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper: “Jesus, the harvest is plentiful.”
As you exhale, pray: “Send workers.”
Do this three times, then rest in His presence.

Read

The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit. These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. Don’t take any money with you, nor a traveler’s bag, nor an extra pair of sandals. And don’t stop to greet anyone on the road.
“Whenever you enter someone’s home, first say, ‘May God’s peace be on this house.’ If those who live there are peaceful, the blessing will stand; if they are not, the blessing will return to you. Don’t move around from home to home. Stay in one place, eating and drinking what they provide. Don’t hesitate to accept hospitality, because those who work deserve their pay.
“If you enter a town and it welcomes you, eat whatever is set before you. Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’ But if a town refuses to welcome you, go out into its streets and say, ‘We wipe even the dust of your town from our feet to show that we have abandoned you to your fate. And know this—the Kingdom of God is near!’ I assure you, even wicked Sodom will be better off than such a town on judgment day.

Reread

Close your eyes and imagine being sent into the harvest by Jesus.

Meditate

Jesus sends His followers out as lambs among wolves.
Seventy-two disciples. Sent in pairs. No money. No bag. No extra sandals. Just a message and a mission.
Notice what Jesus builds into the sending: radical dependence. They can't rely on their own resources. They can't fall back on their own provision. They have to trust that the Lord of the harvest will provide through the people they serve.
And notice what He asks them to do first — before they go anywhere. "Pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers."
The mission begins in prayer. Not strategy. Not planning. Not training. Prayer.
Then He sends them out with the simplest possible assignment: offer peace, heal the sick, announce the Kingdom. You don't need a program. You don't need a platform. You just need to show up, offer what Jesus gives you, and trust Him with the results.
The harvest is great. The workers are few. And Jesus is looking at you.
Take a few moments to reflect on this question:
Where is Jesus sending me right now — and what is the one simple thing He's asking me to do when I get there?

Respond

Jesus, the harvest is plentiful and I am willing to go. Send me where You need me. Give me what I need when I get there. Help me to offer peace, to bring healing, and to announce Your Kingdom — simply, faithfully, and without fear.

Exercise

The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
Habit: Praying for the Harvest
Today's habit begins exactly where Jesus told His disciples to begin: in prayer.
Identify three specific people in your life who don't yet know Jesus — people in your neighborhood, your workplace, your family, your circle of friends. Write their names down.
These are your harvest field. These are the people Jesus is sending you toward.
Now pray for them — specifically, by name, with intention. Pray that God opens a door. Pray that He softens their hearts. Pray that He sends the right words at the right moment. And pray that He makes you ready to be the worker He sends.
Then pray this: "Lord of the harvest, I bring , , and to You today. The harvest is plentiful and the workers are few. Send workers into their lives — and if You want to use me, I am willing. Open the door. I'll walk through it."
The mission doesn't begin with a strategy. It begins on your knees. Jesus said so.
Pray for your three today. And stay ready — because the Lord of the harvest has a way of answering that prayer by sending you.
