Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Nick and it’s an honor to be here with you today.
Today is June 27.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.
Slow Down
Jesus is here.
He’s sitting in your favorite spot, waiting for you to join Him.
You have a million things on your mind that need your attention, but right now it’s time to be with Jesus.
Set those things aside, relax, and calm your body.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper: "Jesus, I am not ashamed of You.”
As you exhale, pray: "Let me share your message today."
Do this three times, then rest in His presence.
Read
If anyone is ashamed of me and my message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in his glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels. I tell you the truth, some standing here right now will not die before they see the Kingdom of God.”
(Luke 9:26–27, NLT)
Notice
What stands out to you in this passage?
Is there a word or phrase that catches your attention?
Hold it in your heart for a moment.
Reread
Hear these words again — and notice the weight Jesus places on how we respond to Him in this life_
Meditate
Jesus has just asked His disciples who He is. Peter has confessed Him as the Messiah. And now Jesus speaks about what comes next - not just belief, but allegiance. Not just private faith, but public identification.
"If anyone is ashamed of me and my message..."
Ashamed. That's a strong word. Jesus isn't talking about people who openly reject Him. He's talking about people who know Him but are embarrassed by Him. People who believe privately but distance themselves publicly. People who follow at a safe distance - close enough to benefit, far enough away to avoid association.
Why would someone be ashamed of Jesus? Because His message is offensive to the powerful. Because His way is narrow. Because identifying with Him might cost you social standing, career opportunities, relationships, reputation. Because in a world that values image and influence, following a crucified
Messiah doesn't always make sense.
But Jesus says: if you are ashamed of Me now, I will be ashamed of you then. If you distance yourself from Me when it's inconvenient, I will not claim you when it matters most.
And then He adds something startling: some of you standing here will not die before you see the Kingdom of God. Something is coming. Something is about to be revealed. And when it is - when you see the glory - you will understand why allegiance to Jesus is worth everything.
Take a few moments to reflect on this question:
Where in my life have been quietly ashamed of Jesus - where have I kept my faith private, not out of wisdom, but out of fear?
Respond
Jesus, forgive me for the moments I have been ashamed of You. Help me live unashamed of Your name, Your message, and Your way.
Exercise
The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
Habit: Living Unashamed
Today's habit is a simple act of courage: identify one conversation, one situation, one relationship where you have been quietly distancing yourself from Jesus - not out of wisdom or discernment, but out of shame or fear - and ask God for the courage to live unashamed there.
Maybe it's speaking His name when you've been silent. Maybe it's praying before a meal in public. Maybe it's gently correcting a misconception about God instead of nodding along. Maybe it's simply telling someone you go to church, you read your Bible, you pray - without apology.
You don't have to be loud. You don't have to be obnoxious. But you do have to be honest. Ask God today: where do You want me to live unashamed?
I have one ask of you before you go, could you please share this podcast with one person today? One person at a time will grow this podcast to help more people walk with Jesus.
That’s your two minutes with Jesus for today.
Now, take what you’ve heard…share it and live it.
Until next time, keep slowing down, keep listening, and keep walking with Jesus.
