<itunes:subtitle>In Episode 188, we explore Luke 9:57-62 and Jesus' radical call to total commitment. Jesus encounters three different people, each with a different response to His invitation to follow. The first person declares: "I will follow you wherever you go"—it sounds like complete commitment. But Jesus responds with a reality check: "Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head." Jesus is asking: Do you understand what you're signing up for? Following me means releasing security, comfort, and certainty. The second person Jesus directly calls: "Come, follow me." The man agrees, but then adds a condition: "First let me return home and bury my father." It sounds reasonable, even honoring. But Jesus responds with stark clarity: "Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead! Your duty is to go and preach about the Kingdom of God." Jesus is not being harsh—He's being clear: you cannot follow me with conditions. You cannot say "yes, but first." The third person says: "Yes, Lord, I will follow you, but first let me say good-bye to my family." Again, it sounds reasonable. But Jesus responds: "Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God." The image is powerful—a farmer plowing a field cannot look back, or the plow will veer off course. Through guided meditation, discover the pattern: Each person wants to follow Jesus on their own terms. Each person has a "but first." And Jesus consistently calls them to undivided allegiance. This doesn't mean abandoning your family or neglecting responsibilities—it means that nothing comes before your commitment to Jesus and His kingdom. This episode challenges you to identify your own "but first"—the condition you're placing on your following of Jesus. What are you waiting to do before you fully commit? What are you holding onto? Learn why following Jesus requires releasing the need to see the whole path ahead. The first disciples couldn't see the resurrection, Pentecost, or the global church that would bear their witness. All they could do was follow. And the same is true for you. You don't need to see the whole path—you just need to take the next step. Discover how to put your hand to the plow, never look back, and follow Jesus into the unknown with confidence.</itunes:subtitle>

<itunes:subtitle>In Episode 187, we explore Matthew 18:21-35 and Jesus' radical teaching on forgiveness. Peter asks Jesus how many times he should forgive someone who sins against him—suggesting seven times as a generous limit. Jesus responds with a shocking answer: "seventy times seven"—not a literal number, but a call to unlimited, boundless forgiveness. He then tells a parable that cuts to the heart of the matter. A king forgives a servant an impossible debt—millions of dollars. The servant is released, restored, and free. But then this same servant encounters a fellow servant who owes him a small amount and demands immediate payment, grabbing him by the throat and having him thrown in prison. When the king hears what happened, he's furious—not because the servant failed to collect a debt, but because the servant refused to pass on the mercy he had received. Through guided meditation, discover the profound tension Jesus is pressing into your heart: You have been forgiven of everything. Every sin. Every failure. Every moment you've fallen short. The debt has been paid. You are free. But if you refuse to forgive others—if you hold their sins against them—then you are rejecting the very mercy that saved you. Unforgiveness says: "I will hold this against you. You owe me. You deserve punishment." Forgiveness says: "I release you. The debt is canceled. You are free." One comes from a heart that has experienced the king's mercy. The other comes from a heart that has forgotten it. This episode challenges you to examine who you've been refusing to forgive and what debt you've been demanding they pay. Learn why forgiveness is not a feeling—it's a choice. You may not feel forgiving. You may still feel angry or hurt. But forgiveness is the deliberate decision to release someone from the debt you believe they owe you. Discover how forgiving others frees them, but also frees you from carrying the weight of their sin and letting their actions define your present. Find practical steps for naming the hurt, releasing the person, and stepping into the freedom that comes from forgiving like you have been forgiven.</itunes:subtitle>

When Peter asks how many times he should forgive, Jesus responds: "seventy times seven"—meaning unlimited forgiveness. Through the parable of the unforgiving servant, Jesus reveals a stunning truth: you cannot be right with God while holding unforgiveness in your heart. This episode explores how you've been forgiven of an impossible debt—every sin, every failure, every shortcoming—yet you may be refusing to extend that same mercy to others. Learn why unforgiveness is actually a rejection of the mercy that saved you, and how forgiveness is not a feeling but a choice.
