Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Nick and it is great to be here with you today. Today is February 23.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.
Slow Down
Jesus is glad you are here.
He longs to spend time with you.
He wants to be in your presence.
He loves you.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper: “Lord, make me clean.”
As you exhale, pray: “I receive Your compassion.”
Do this three times, then sit in silence for a few moments.
Read
A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said.
Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!”
Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed.
Then Jesus sent him on his way with a stern warning: “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy. This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.”
But the man went and spread the word, proclaiming to everyone what had happened. As a result, large crowds soon surrounded Jesus, and he couldn’t publicly enter a town anywhere. He had to stay out in secluded places, but people from everywhere kept coming to him.
(Mark 1:40–45, NLT)
Notice
What stands out to you in this passage?
Is there a phrase that surprises or challenges you?
Hold it in your heart for a moment.
Reread
Hear the words again slowly, listening for what Jesus might be saying to you personally.
Meditate
Leprosy was more than a disease — it was isolation, rejection, and despair. The man who approached Jesus carried not only physical pain but the weight of being unwanted and untouchable.
His plea is raw and vulnerable: “If you are willing…” It’s a question loaded with years of hurt — will anyone see me, care for me, touch me?
Jesus doesn’t hesitate. Moved with compassion, He does the unthinkable — He touches the man. Before the words “Be healed” are even spoken, the touch itself speaks volumes: You are seen. You are valued. You are loved.
In that moment, healing comes not just to his body, but to his dignity and soul.
Take a few moments to reflect on this question:
Where in my life do I need to feel Jesus’ compassionate touch, and how can I extend that touch to someone else today?
Respond
Lord, thank You for seeing me, touching my life with Your compassion, and making me whole.
Exercise
The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
Habit: Reach Out
Today, find a way to extend compassion through physical presence or intentional care — a handshake, a hug, sitting beside someone, or simply listening without distraction.
As you do, silently pray: “Lord, let Your compassion flow through me.”
Before you go, I have a simple favor to ask.
