Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.

Slow Down

You are stepping into a sacred space with Jesus.
Set aside the distractions of your day.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper: “Jesus, open my eyes.”
As you exhale, pray: “Help me to see the signs.”
Do this three times, then rest in His presence.

Read

Then Jesus turned to the crowd and said, “When you see clouds beginning to form in the west, you say, ‘Here comes a shower.’ And you are right. When the south wind blows, you say, ‘Today will be a scorcher.’ And it is. You fools! You know how to interpret the weather signs of the earth and sky, but you don’t know how to interpret the present times.
“Why can’t you decide for yourselves what is right? When you are on the way to court with your accuser, try to settle the matter before you get there. Otherwise, your accuser may drag you before the judge, who will hand you over to an officer, who will throw you into prison. And if that happens, you won’t be free again until you have paid the very last penny.”

Reread

Hear this passage again — and notice what Jesus has to say about reading the present times.

Meditate

You can read the clouds. You can feel the wind shift. You know what's coming.
Jesus says: you're good at reading the weather. You look at the signs and you make a judgment — rain is coming, heat is coming — and you act accordingly. You bring an umbrella. You drink more water. You adjust your plans.
But when it comes to reading the spiritual signs of the times — when it comes to recognizing what God is doing, what is at stake, what is coming — you're blind.
This is the frustration in Jesus's voice. Not cruelty. Frustration. He's standing right in front of them. He's healing the sick, raising the dead, teaching with authority that no one has ever heard before. The signs are everywhere. And they can't — or won't — see them.
Then He pivots to a practical illustration: if you're on your way to court with someone who has a case against you, settle it before you get there. Don't wait for the judge. Don't assume you'll win. Act now, while you still can.
The urgency is the same in both cases. Read the signs. Act while there's time. Don't wait until it's too late.
Here's the question this passage raises for us: Are we reading the signs? Not just the weather — but the spiritual reality of the moment we're living in?
We live in a world that is moving fast, that is confused about what is true and what is good, that is desperately in need of the Gospel. The signs are everywhere. The urgency is real.
And Jesus is asking: Are you paying attention? Are you acting accordingly? Are you settling what needs to be settled — in your own heart, in your relationships, in your walk with God — before it's too late?
Take a few moments to sit with this question:
What spiritual sign am I ignoring right now — in my own life or in the world around me — that I need to pay attention to and act on?

Respond

Jesus, open my eyes to see what You see. Help me to read the signs of the times — not with fear, but with wisdom. And help me to act while there is still time — to settle what needs to be settled, to do what needs to be done, to live with the urgency that this moment deserves.

Exercise

The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
Habit: Settle It Now
Today's habit is an act of urgent obedience: identify one thing in your life that you've been putting off — something you know needs to be addressed, resolved, or acted on — and take one step toward settling it today.
It might be a relationship that needs reconciliation. It might be a sin you've been tolerating that needs to be confessed and repented of. It might be a conversation you've been avoiding. It might be a step of obedience you've been delaying. It might be a decision you've been sitting on while the urgency grows.
Write it down. Be specific.
Bring it to Jesus and pray: "Jesus, I've been putting off _________________. I've been hoping it would resolve itself, or that the right moment would come, or that I'd feel more ready. But You're calling me to act now — while there's still time, while I still have a choice. Give me the courage to take one step today. Help me to settle what needs to be settled. I don't want to wait until I'm dragged before the judge. I want to act now — freely, willingly, in response to Your call."
