Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Nick and it’s fantastic to be here with you today.
Today is June 4.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.
Slow Down
Jesus is here. He’s sitting in your favorite spot, waiting for you to join Him.
You may have a million things on your mind, but for these few moments, set them aside. Relax. Calm your body.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper: “Jesus, I represent You.”
As you exhale, pray: “Let the way I live reflect You.”
Do this three times, then rest in His presence.
Read
“Anyone who receives you receives me, and anyone who receives me receives the Father who sent me. If you receive a prophet as one who speaks for God, you will be given the same reward as a prophet. And if you receive righteous people because of their righteousness, you will be given a reward like theirs. And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.” (Matthew 10:40–42, NLT)
Notice
What stands out to you in this passage?
Is there a phrase or truth that speaks directly to you?
Hold it in your heart for a moment.
Reread
Hear these words again — and let the weight of the opening line settle: Whoever receives you receives Me.
.
Meditate
The disciples are not just messengers carrying a message about Jesus. They are, in some profound sense, carriers of His presence. To welcome them is to welcome Him. To offer even a cup of cold water to one of His little ones — the smallest, most ordinary act of hospitality and care — will not go unrewarded.
This is the dignity Jesus places on the lives of His followers. You are not a minor character in a story about someone more important. You are the one through whom Jesus makes Himself known in the places where you live and work and move. Your presence carries His presence. Your welcome of others is His welcome of them.
And the cup of cold water matters. Jesus doesn’t say only the dramatic acts of sacrifice will be rewarded. He says the smallest act of care — offered in His name, to one who belongs to Him — will not be overlooked. Nothing given in His name is wasted. Nothing is too small to matter.
Take a few moments to reflect on this question:
Am I living with the awareness that I carry the presence of Jesus into every room I enter — and that even the smallest act of care offered in His name has weight and value in His kingdom?
Respond
Jesus, let me walk into every room, every conversation, every ordinary moment knowing that I represent You —
Exercise
The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
*Habit: A Cup of Cold Water *
Today’s habit is beautifully simple: offer one small, intentional act of care to someone today — and do it consciously in Jesus’ name.
It really can be as small as a cup of cold water. A door held open with genuine attention. A meal brought to someone who is tired. A moment of real listening when someone needs to be heard. The act itself doesn’t need to be impressive. What makes it kingdom work is the name behind it and the heart within it.
Before you do it, pray: “Jesus, I offer this small thing in Your name. Let it carry more than I am able to give on my own — and let the person who receives it somehow sense that it comes from You.”
I have one ask of you before you go, could you please share this podcast with one person today? One person at a time will grow this podcast to help more people walk with Jesus.
That’s your two minutes with Jesus for today.
Now, take what you’ve heard…share it and live it.
Until next time, keep slowing down, keep listening, and keep walking with Jesus.
