Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Nick and it is an honor to be here with you today. Today is February 2.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin.
Slow Down
You are stepping into a sacred space with the intent of meeting Jesus.
He wants to meet with you and spend time with you.
Take this moment to slow down, quiet your mind, and prepare your heart to connect with Him.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper in your heart: “I was blind.”
As you exhale, pray: “But now I see.”
Do this three times, then sit in silence for a few moments.
Read
And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.” (John 3:14–21, NLT)
Notice
What stands out to you in this passage?
Is there a word or phrase that catches your attention?
Hold it in your heart for a moment.
Reread
Now hear the passage again slowly, being mindful of what God is wanting you to hear from Him.
Meditate
Having our sins exposed is never a comfortable thought. Most of us instinctively want to keep them hidden — tucked away in the darkness where no one can see. But Jesus calls us out of that darkness and into His light, not to shame us, but to heal us.
In the light, our sins are brought into view — and that’s where forgiveness happens. It’s where His righteousness begins to shine through us. The invitation is not to condemnation, but to restoration.
John tells us that God’s love is the reason Jesus came. He didn’t enter the world to judge and destroy, but to save and give eternal life to all who believe. This means we don’t have to fear the light — because the light is where grace meets us, where love covers us, and where transformation begins.
Take a few moments to reflect on this question:
Will I cling to the comfort of my sin, hiding in the shadows, or will I step into the light of Christ and let Him change me?
Respond
God, I step in to the light of Christ…please change my heart.
Exercise
The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits.
Habit: Light Your World
Nothing lights up a room better than a smile. A genuine smile can warm hearts and lift spirits.
Whenever you enter a room, smile at the first person you see. Notice how it changes the atmosphere.
Share the light of Christ with the world through something as simple as a smile.
