About this Episode

Today’s episode of the 2 Minute Disciple Christian devotional podcast is a short, contemplative Christian meditation on Luke 6:6–11. We slow down with Jesus, practice daily scripture meditation, and listen as He asks a piercing question: “Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?” 🙏

Each episode follows a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise. In this passage, Jesus is teaching in the synagogue, and a man with a deformed right hand is present. The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are watching closely, planning to accuse Jesus if He heals on the Sabbath. Jesus knows their thoughts and still calls the man to stand in front of everyone. ❤️

He places the hurting person in the center and asks whether this holy day is meant for good or evil, for saving life or destroying it. Their silence reveals their hearts—they would rather protect their system than see this man restored. Jesus is grieved, yet He still heals. Compassion moves Him, even when it provokes rage and further opposition.

Together, we reflect on this question: Where might Jesus be asking me something similar—Is this moment for doing good, or for looking away?

If you’re looking for a Bible podcast that fits into a busy day, this short Christian devotional will help you create a quiet time with Jesus, grow in Christian discipleship, and deepen your spiritual formation through scripture meditation and contemplative prayer. ✝️
